Accommodation

There is a very wide range of hotels in Moscow. The information on their location, provided service, and reservation details can be found at several websites. See, for instance: site1, site2, site3, site4, site5.

All the ISNA-16 events and meetings will be held in the Moscow State University (MSU) located on South-West of Moscow on hills overlooking the Moskva River. It is in a beautiful setting surrounded by parks. The Metro station"Universitet" (located at the Red Line of the Metro map ) is 10-minute walk or one bus stop from the Department of Physics. The Kremlin Palace, which is in the heart of Moscow, is a 20-minute Metro ride from the "Universitet" station. The ISNA-16 participants will have an opportunity of accommodation in the Main Building of MSU . This is one of the most beautiful Moscow landmarks built in 1953 in the "wedding-cake" style. This building is a core of the MSU campus and is like a small town that contains several MSU departments, administrative services, libraries, conference halls, restaurants, dormitories for 9000 students, cultural and sport centers, museums, banks, post office, shops, and grocery stores.

Two options for accommodation are available in the MSU Main Building. The first option is the MSU Hotel (a single room costs 30 - 40 USD, a double room costs 60 USD, a single room in 2-room block costs 18 USD/night). The second, most inexpensive option is the MSU dormitory. A single room costs only 5 USD per night. The rooms are rather simple with a bed, table, lamps, a small closet, and a bookshelf. Two rooms form together a small apartment with shared toilet and shower. Each room and each apartment have doors, which can be locked with two separate keys. Some rooms have spectacular view of downtown Moscow, about 16 km (10 miles) away.

There are also several hotels located close to the Moscow State University, such as hotel "Sputnik" *** (a single room costs 35-40 USD, a double room costs 75-140 USD), "Sojuz" *** (a single room costs 35 USD, a double room costs 80 USD) , and "Kometa"*** (a single room costs 25 USD). The ISNA-16 Organizers will help you with the reservations in these hotels.

More expensive luxury options of accommodation are available in the hotels located in the Moscow downtown. Many of them are masterpieces of art and culture. Among them is famous "Metropol"***** hotel built in 1903 in modernist style. The "Metropol" along with several other Moscow hotels was certified to meet the highest international standards. Of the same standard are the hotel "Slavyanskaya" **** that recently hosted the US President Bill Clinton, the hotel "National"***** where the President of France Jacques Chirac stayed, and the hotel "Baltschug". More detailed information about these and other luxury hotels can be found through the Internet.

There are also less expensive options of accommodation in the Moscow downtown. For instance, hotels "Moskva" *** and "Rossija" *** are ideally located in the very heart of the Moscow. These hotels are only 2-3 minutes walks from the Metro stations from where you can quickly go to the Moscow State University. The "Rossija" hotel is the biggest hotel in Europe. It commands a fine view of the panorama of the ancient and modern city, which is seen from the four sides of the hotel: the Kremlin and the Red Square, numerous architectural monuments and the embankment of the Moskva river. (A double room with a Kremlin View costs 75 USD.)

The reservations for downtown accommodation can be made via Internet. If you choose to stay in the hotel not in the Moscow State University building we would also recommend you to contact your local travel agencies to learn about other possible options. It is very important to stay in the hotel close to one of the Metro stations. Otherwise it will be difficult to get to the MSU.

To make reservations, please, submit on-line the Hotel Reservation Form available at the ISNA-16 website.
