Finite piezoceramic transducers vibrating nonlinearly are studied, both experimentally and theoretically. When driven by high voltages, not only higher order harmonics are generated,  but the rising of fractional harmonic components is observed, this results being a threshold  phenomenon. Experimentally, the mechanical displacement spectrum is measured through  an acoustooptical probe at different points of the vibrating surface. The process of generating  subharmonics and fractional harmonics is studied, as it depends upon the position on the  excited structure and on the excitation frequency and amplitude.
