Results
of experimental investigation of acoustic compressional pulses in copper are
presented. The pulses in wires were generated by impact of a steel sphere on an
end face of a wire. As a result, the pulses with pressure amplitude up to 60
MPa were generated. The dependences of the velocity and spectrum transformation
of the pulse on its amplitude are investigated.
